Gregory A. Kotsonis, Esq., has been an attorney since 1993. However, the Brookfield, Wisconsin resident, who was also born and raised in the city, has been around the law his entire life. With a father (George) and uncle serving as lawyers, Gregory decided early in life that he would pursue a legal career.
Earning a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1989 from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1993 from the University of Dayton School of Law.
Having worked as a clerk with the Law Offices of George N. Kotsonis (his father’s firm) between 1989 – 1993, he joined the law practice upon passing the bar in May of 1993, working with the firm through December 2003.
With his father’s unexpected passing in September 2003, Gregory moved on to hone his craft with some of the area’s leading law firms.
He became a partner with von Briesen & Roper, s.c., Business Section in Milwaukee in January 2004, then joined Crivello Carlson, S.C in Milwaukee in September 2010, again as a partner with the firm, staying through January 2019.
After spending 15 months with Schober Schober & Mitchell, S.C. in New Berlin, Gregory decided to take his years of experience and open his own practice, Kotsonis Law LLC.
During his career, Gregory has represented various businesses and individuals on an array of business and corporate law initiatives, family law, estate planning, probate, and more. He works with buyers and sellers in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions. He also supports entrepreneurs and emerging companies with situations pertinent to newly developed and quickly-growing businesses.
As a member of the American Bar Association and State Bar of Wisconsin (Real Estate and Family Law Sections) since 1993, Gregory is a member of the U.S. District Courts – Eastern District of Wisconsin and Northern District of Illinois. He completed Mediation and Family Law Training in May 2018, plus he is a member of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA).
Outside the office, Gregory cherishes the time he is able to spend with his family. This includes attending church, shuttling kids to and from youth sports leagues and activities, visiting the Wisconsin Dells, and attending Wisconsin Badgers football games.
In addition, he is a volunteer at the annual Greek Festival presented by Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, plus the Kotsonis family operates two of the Sheboygan Brat Haus food stands annually at the Wisconsin State Fair.
He and his wife Denise have three children, sons George and Nicholas and daughter Kalliope.
